All-Region: Bryant named hoops Player of the Year

The Clinch County Panthers dominated Region 2-A (Division II) basketball this past season – and the All-Region team shows that.
The Panthers had the Player of the Year (Aaron Bryant), the Offensive Player of the Year (Antron Matthews), the Co-Freshman of the Year (Traviian Miller) and four other players who were chosen first- or second-team All Region. The Panthers finished the season with a 22-3 record, going undefeated in region play.
Meanwhile, the Pantherettes had seven players earn All-Region honors, including three first-team choices. The selections were made by the region’s basketball coaches.
In addition to Bryant, Matthews, and Miller earning honors, the other All-Region choices for the Clinch boys were Shane Burns – first-team; Kamarion Johnson-second-team; Jakryi Posley-second-team; honorable mention-Kyiis Mingo.
Pantherettes chosen for first-team were Amariah Dean, Destiny Tolbert, and D’marreya Magby. Jhinerial Mingo was a second-team choice, and Tara Stevens, Ta’Kyra Causey and Makailey Cobb were honoroble-mention All-Region.
