Should there be a special election for Homerville mayor?
Recently, Homerville’s mayor resigned with more than two years left in his term. Homerville City Council is considering appointing someone to fill the more than two years of that term. Should they do that or call for a special election and allow Homerville’s voters to choose their own mayor? We will run this poll until the next council meeting – Thursday at 6 p.m.
Does the Homerville City Council deserve a 267% raise?
- No (95%, 73 Votes)
- Yes (5%, 4 Votes)
Total Voters: 77

It is the right thing to do!
Absolutely there should be a special election! I can’t imagine this even being a question.
Hold a special election for all elected offices…No more appointments.
Agrees with Scott Leccese. Let the taxpayers voice be heard.
Yes! The citizens should be allowed to vote for their Mayor.
Yes. If you do not have an election this would set the stage to end all elections. A group of people could simply schedule resignations and appointments indefinitely without the voters getting a voice. To not do so would give the perception of corruption and disenfranchisement of all voters.
That is a fact J Herndon and I couldn’t have said it better. That is one of our only rights that we have left in this country our family members fought and died for, and they are wanting to do away with it. No No… Let the people vote… Scott great comment also brother.
Yes! 100% YES!
It seems a lot of Homerville folks are not happy with the current city county and city manager and the goings on in the city, or lack thereof. Audits up to date?
I nominate myself. Homerville needs new blood and help reaching its potential instead of nepotism and same ol.
