Bennie Eugene Leviton
  Bennie E. "Papa" Leviton, one of Homerville’s most respected, hardworking, loving elder statesman, died Friday, July 4, 2014.
Mr. Bennie was born in Homerville on October 3, 1935 to James Benjamin Leviton and Mildred Carol Hill Leviton of Fargo.  His sister is Latrell Hart, and his brother,  brother Louis Leviton, both of whom reside in Fargo.
He graduated from Homerville High School in the Class of 1953 and played on the first Panther football team.  He was a graduate of the University of Georgia in 1958 and has resided in Homerville and Fargo his entire life. Bennie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather – loving and caring for everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Hughes Leviton, son, David A. "Tony" Leviton and wife, Shelia Leviton of Anderson, S.C., son, Blake E. Leviton and wife, Beth Leviton of Homerville, daughter, Ashlan L. Laedlein and husband, Scott Laedlein of Highland Park, Ill., whom love and adore him.  He leaves nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and caring friends, family and colleagues.
A day of devotion to his life was held at his home church, Homerville United Methodist Church.  Greeting and visitation was in the church sanctuary on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 10 a.m. noon. Services began at noon.
A private graveside service followed in the Pine Forest Cemetery.

Mary Jean Lee
Mrs. Mary Jean Lee, 71, passed away, Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her residence.
Mrs. Lee was born February 24, 1943 in Homerville, to the late Edgar Lee and Jewell Estell Cox Lee. She had worked for B-Way and was a foster parent. She was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Gilstrap.    
Survivors are her husband, Robert A.  Lee, Sr. of Homerville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert A. “Robin” and Denise Lee and Richard Allen Lee all of Homerville; one sister, Gwen Hooker of Valdosta; three brothers,Tommy Lee and Billy Joe Lee both of Homerville and Gerald Lee of Hudson, Fla.; two grandchildren, Ashley Lee and Alexa Dickson; three great-grandchildren, Kalei Nelson, Brylei Nelson and Parker Dickson and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lee were held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Homerville Free Will Baptist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Paul flton and Minister Robert Lee, Jr.
Interment was in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Trevor Fortner, Jerry Fortner, Danny Leccese, Phillip Cook, Albert Tornton, Jimmy McLaney, Kenton McLaine, and Foster Smith.
W.G. Smith sang "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art".
